In recent years, I have had short brownish hair.
I have had long blondish hair.
I have had all kinds of in between hair.
I currently wear it long and have blonde highlights (that really need a touch up!). I'm actually surprised at how long it has gotten. Usually I've chopped it off before it gets to this point!
I naturally have stick straight blonde hair but pregnancy hormones and aging have turned it brown and wavy. I can wear it straight or curly now (in the past it wouldn't hold a curl no matter how many pink foam rollers and cans of hairspray my mother used on it). But with a little product and a little work I can wear it wavy now and it actually will hold.
Funny story--upon seeing me with curly hair for the first time, the four year old brother of one of my patients asked me why my hair was so "fluffy". I still think about that every time I wear it wavy!

I love these cotton batik headwraps! I have multiple colors and I wear them all the time.

I bought one of these at Dragonfly Imports in Emerald Isle a few years ago just to wear out on the beach. When I got home I realized how great they were to run in. They fit my head perfectly and they do not move at all. I like that I can wear them wide or fold them to make them narrow. They are all cotton so you don't get the moisture wicking qualities of some headbands but I find that mine don't really get all that sweaty. The back is elasticized and they will stay in place no matter if I am running, doing jumping jacks, whatever.
And of course I love the fact that they are from Indonesia (I studied abroad there in college). You can find them all over the internet by googling "batik headband." I've seen them on Ebay and Etsy. If you are local or travel to the Atlantic Beach, NC area you can find them at either Dragonfly Imports location (Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach). I buy couple new ones every year in different colors. They are cheap, only about $5-7 each.
I have also tried Bondibands and although I really like the cute prints they tend to slip off my head. They are made of a moisture wicking material and they are really stretchy. I can wear them for running but they don't stay on well if I'm doing a class that involves a lot of jumping.

Maybe when I reach my goal I'll get a makeover and a new hairdo Biggest Loser style. Maybe like this:
Or an inverted bob like this:

If only I had a Ken Paves of my own. Speaking of Ken and Biggest Loser...did anyone else catch the makeover show on Monday? LOVED it. Danni was just precious and I still love Jackson!

I won a headband from a blog giveaway (Sweatybands) and I really like it! It does not move and has lasted for quite awhile.
ReplyDeleteI love the last haircut you posted. That's pretty much how I have mine cut only hers has a little more "oomph" to it than what I typically put into mine. ;)
Mama Laughlin swears by BIC Bands!! I haven't tried them for myself but she loves them!!
